Reports To: Audio Visual Manager

Position Overview:

Provide daily operational support for Audio Visual Services. Create and maintain part-time student AV assistant work schedules. Assist students with the hiring process and related matters. Provide the required training of student projectionists and AV assistants. Enroll SVA AVS managed Apple computers into the JAMF remote management system and the general upkeep of SVA AVS Laptops and Mac Minis. Ensure all AV offices have the necessary equipment needed for daily operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide training for all student AV assistants and projectionists
  • Create and maintain work schedules for all part-time student AV assistants and projectionists per semester
  • Set up, operate, and retrieve AV equipment in classrooms, meetings, events, and lectures on occasion.
  • Ensure all AV areas have the necessary equipment, supplies, and gear for daily operations at all times
  • Implementing regular and routine inventory for all classrooms, screening rooms, and event gear throughout the college.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of audio visual equipment on occasion.
  • Provide audio visual and presentation technology support in the classrooms
  • Provide preparation, planning, and support for college-sponsored events and activities.
  • Supervise the distribution and return of departmental AV equipment.
  • Assist faculty and staff on matters related to audio visual, computer, and projection equipment.
  • Occasionally act as technical staff for college-sponsored events and activities.
  • The ability to work evening and weekend hours as dictated by the needs of the college.

SVA AVS Apple computer management:

  • Enroll SVA AVS Apple computers (laptops and Mac minis) into the JAMF remote management system with support from the IT Dept
  • Manage and maintain SVA AVS Apple computers housed in Smart Classrooms and portable presentation carts
  • Work with the SVA AVS Asst Manager and IT team on updates/upgrades on SVA AVS-managed Apple computers
  • Replace and set up SVA AVS Apple computers as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Hands-on experience with presentation and AV hardware
  • Two years of managerial experience providing audiovisual services, preferably in an educational setting, preferred
  • Extron Associates Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Extron Global Viewer Enterprise preferred
  • JAMF 101 training preferred
  • Previous live event experience
  • Strong computer skills both on Mac and PC platforms and their respective software, Keynote, Powerpoint, Quicktime, VLC player, presentation software, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of audio-visual terminology, computer, and presentation technology
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems both in the classroom and during live events
  • Good coordination skills required
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical clientele
  • A proactive approach to all responsibilities and duties
  • Must have good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain focus and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations
  • Background in education environment strongly preferred
