REPORTS TO: Director of Operations; BFA Design, BFA Advertising

SCHEDULE: Part-time staff; 28 hours per week; 9am - 5pm, 4 days per week

POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for assisting department staff and faculty with Mac issues relating to hardware and software. Duties include resolving helpdesk tickets, communicating through messaging platforms, and providing technical support for the BFA Advertising & BFA Design team for portfolio reviews and design competitions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Office computer maintenance
  • Install and configure department applications and printer drivers
  • Install, configure, and upgrade OSX software
  • Manage department cloud-based storage, archiving older collateral and ensuring department cloud storage is operational
  • Liaise with SVA IT department regarding procedures and policies; anticipate and prepare for policy changes coming down the pike
  • Track and monitor department device inventory and recommend replacements and purchases
  • Provide technical support for competition software (like Awardforce or comparable programs)
  • Working with department Communications Coordinator on yearly projects (portfolio reviews, Zoom events, class presentations)
  • Assist department chair with freshman and sophomore class weekly Canvas attendance and grading
  • Stay abreast of current software and hardware developments and keep Director Operations and Chair apprised of appropriate innovations.
  • Responsible for updating the department website and app

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of Macintosh work experience
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Adobe Creative Suite and Google Workspace
  • Good understanding of Apple OSX and IOS systems
  • Proficiency in LMS and CMS and Zoom for large groups
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player who can also work independently
  • Willingness to learn and master new software
  • BA/BS preferred
  • Fully vaccinated and boosted
